Towncar Wheels on Jeep XJ
Got them on!

Ready for the snow. Still need to sipe them. But these tires always did great in the snow. I am still going to avoid driving the Cherokee in the snow (salt).

First thing is - the stance is a few inches wider:

Looks pretty good from the side:

I like them. They look much better than any of the others you've run. Love the wider stance too. With the wheel pushed out farther it's a but of an illusion because it keeps the tires from looking so skinny.

It also makes the tires look taller, too. Those are the same size as I run for mud tires (both in measurement and physical size), but they look bigger on those wheels.

RE: Towncar Wheels on Jeep XJ
I am going to see if I can pick up a fifth this weekend. Then in the spring, pay another $100 to have the mud tires put on the wheels. Nuts!

Or, I might try to find a set of older crown vic police interceptor steel wheels as they will have the same offset and backspacing.

For what it's worth, I did NOT bore the hub center out of that wheel. It took 3 people with sledge hammers beating on the back of the wheel to remove it!

I had a set but had to get rid of them because the tires would hit the fenders with a small lift.

I am worried about running alloys off road, especially with skinny tires that don't protect the bead at all.

I'd just look for another set of the town car wheel and mount the mud tired on them. It will be cheaper in the long run and they look much better than the steel wheels. Ether that or get some weld on rock rings for the steel wheels and make them look tough as hell lol.

The workhorse tires on the alloy wheels are significantly lighter than the mud tires on liberty wheels.

I'm not sure if it's because the workhorse tires are D-rated , non retreads or if it's the weight difference in the wheel.
