This was very helpful. I was surprised to find out the shaft doesn't turn at a constant speed.

It seems that since the parts must turn at the same rpm (they do), that they'd all turn at the same rate (they don't).

Phasing and the canceling of harmonics is pretty neat stuff.

Of course if you have a CV or a double cardan (almost a CV) at one end with a single joint at the other end, the single u-Joint end has to have as close to 0 as possible to remain vibration free. Otherwise it will have nothing to cancel it out
