I have never used that, either. Looks promising:

After a week in the vinegar bath, and a light buff with a wire wheel, the case is shiny and clean. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it definitely made cleanup easier. The rust rubbed right off like in the video that Eric posted.

I'm currently searching for a vat large enough to drive my Jeep into, and a good price on 15,000 gallons of vinegar.

RE: Project Crusher Bait - 99 S10
Got the case all painted up nice and fancy like. Found out the vinegar trick doesn't work on aluminum, so I used wheel acid. Time for reassembly.

I did the twin stick mod too. A 205 has two shift rails connected to one shifter. Normally the longer rail does mode 2wd, 4wd or neutral. The other shorter rail does range, high and low. By modifying the range rail it allows the front and rear outputs to be shifted independently. There are a ton of writeups out there on how to do this.

Unmodified Rail:

Marked for grinding:

Finished Rail:

The end result is a shift pattern like this:

Upgraded to 1410 yokes.

I finally finished putting the case together.
